Join us on the morning of Tuesday, January 27th to hear from DeSoto Country Economic Development Council President Jim Flanagan. Breakfast will be provided. 

Jim grew up on the Mississippi gulf coast and attended the public schools in Pascagoula, Mississippi.  He received his Bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from University of Mississippi.  Upon graduation, Jim worked as a planning and landscape design consultant in Clarksdale, Mississippi.  He then became Planning Director and eventually Executive Director of North Delta Planning and Development District.  He accepted the position of Executive Director of the DeSoto County Economic Development Council in 1988 and served in that capacity until 1994 when he accepted a new position as President of the Jackson, TN Chamber of Commerce.  In 1996 he returned to his original position with the DeSoto Council and is currently serving as President/CEO.
